Detailed Answer:
Hi, I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
First, don't be anxious. there are many causes of blood in stool excluding cancer. besides, cancer can be confirmed only after meeting a gastroenterology specialist for colonoscopy and biopsy.
So we will have to wait for the appointment with gastroenterology specialist in 3 weeks.

I'm the meantime I suggest
1. test pt-inr
2. test hemoglobin weekly
3. take high fibre diet
4. take plenty of fluids
5. take stool softeners like isapghula husk 3tsf at bedtime

I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.

Many thanks...it helps! One follow up if i may.....the catscans n mri were for my abdominal cramps n bloatiness. Is is possible anything may have been detected in the colon if there was something? Last question, i promise.....the mri also saw i have a bulging disc.....could that also affect colon or bowel problems?cheers

Thanks...it helped. 2 follow ups, if i may? The 2 abdominal catscans and the mri....would they have possibly detected anything unusual in my colon, if there were anything? Secondly, the mri revealed i have a bulging disc which at times makes my legs a sense of weakness, n some groin aches.....could the disc also affect my bowels?

Brief Answer:
Specific information

Detailed Answer:
Hi
First. MRI may have missed the problem.
It's needed to do colonoscopy.
And also the barium meal.
As for the discs affecting the colon. It's possible but not usually. The conditon is usually very severe. It also depends on the disc involved.
I hope that the information helps.
Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
