Suggest Treatment For Blood Stained Saliva And Allergies
Different causes given below
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
There are many different causes for presence of blood when you spit.
It is not always due to cancer.
It could be from the oral cavity. Examination of the oral cavity should be done first.
If no source of bleeding could be found in the oral cavity, then other causes should be looked in to.
These include lung infections like tuberculosis, bronchitis, autoimmune conditions involving lungs. Sometimes the source could be in the nose or the stomach.
So the first step is to get the oral cavity examined and also get a chest xray done.
I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Do you think it could be leukemia or throat cancer
Throat cancer less likely
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Since the oral cavity if good, then other sources should be looked for.
As mentioned earlier, a chest xray should be done. Sinus and stomach can be examined.
Thraot cancer is unlikely as you do not have other symptoms like cough, difficulty in swallowing and change of voice.
To know whether it is due to leukemia, a complete blood count and a peripheral blood smear test may be done.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Laryngoscopy may be done
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Since you use Skoal and are worried about throat cancer, a laryngoscopy test may be done.
This test will help to know whether you have throat cancer or not.
But as said earlier it is unlikely as you do not have cough, difficulty in swallowing and change of voice.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
