Brief Answer:
Needs ophthalmology test and Hba1c
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
The blood sugars seem to be fine.
However just FBS is not enough.
You need to test Hba1c also.
Second, I would suggest you to consult an opthalmologist.
Diabetic patients are known to develop what is known as diabetic retinopathy. Second cause is a glaucoma or cataract.
All 3 causes are known in diabetics and cause blurring of vision. Therefore, meeting an ophthalmologist is essential.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.

hi doctor, enclosing hba1c, kft and lipid profile report. Can you please advise next course of action
Brief Answer:
Check for kidneys
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your response,
I have read your reports.
I have the following suggestions-
The HbA1C is very high- 9.You need to meet the diabetician regularly to step up on the dose of the anti diabetes medicines. Addition of medicines like glycomet 500 is needed.
The lipid profile shows low HDL and high non HDL cholesterol. I would suggest medicines of the statin group like atorvastatin 10 mg at bedtime. With this moderate physical exercise as tolerated is needed.
Urea is borderline normal. I would suggest testing kidneys for possible diabetic nephropathy. Tests would be Ultrasound abdomen and Urine microalbuminuria.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. Best of luck, Dr Mittal.

A detailed chart is best made with a diabetician.
I would suggest that you follow the DASH diet in the meantime.
I am forwarding you the link to my aricle for the same.

As for fruits, avoid large portions of fruits as they are all sweet. take one or two portions of fruits like apples. No mangoes, bananas.
Best of luck.
