Brief Answer:
Slow improvement would occur.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for getting back with biopsy report.

It is a good news that the biopsy report is suggestive of tuberculosis (TB), as it is fully treatable condition. Absence of cancer is a great information.

She is on correct medications for spine TB. Total treatment may range for 12-18 months.

Ambulation, sitting and standing would depend on the stability of spine. If there is no instability as judged by the doctor based on MRI reports, she can be made to sit and stand with support and physiotherapist's assistance.

A thoracic corset may also help in providing stability to spine and relieving the pain. Medications such as ultracet and pregabalin may also be used to relieve pain.

At XXXXXXX you can take second opinion at NIMHANS or MANIPAL hospitals.

I hope it helps.

Best wishes,

Thanks doc, when will we know the effect of medicine? What happens if these medicines do not cure? Has it happened before?
The pain some days increases more than it was before, what does it indicate

Brief Answer:
You will get to know within 1-2 months.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

You will get to know within 1-2 months, whether the current medicines are working or not. If they do not work, as can happen in a small proportion of patients, we can use second line anti TB medications. So, there is no need to worry about that.

Best wishes,
