Question: Hi, I have an 12 year old daughter who is having significant problems at the moment.
She is having severe pains in her stomach, feels sick after eating , has acid reflux continually. She has been getting stabbing pains in her chest and feels like someone is squeezing her chest.
the doctor prescribed Nexium 20mg and this has not made much difference.
She cannot regulate her temperature and in school is finding that she has to go to the bathroom to wipe under her arms, her palms are always clamy and wet.
She has been unwell for a while and has had pneumonia and chest infections about 5 times.
She was born with fluid on her lungs.
the last few days she is finding that she cannot catch her breath, she describes it as if her airway is closing over and she cant breath. She has also developed a cough which she explains as trying to clear her throat. This is continuous but especially during and after eating.
She is fatigued continuously and I would like your imput on what it might be.
many thanks

Brief Answer:
I would like to rule out neurological cause for this condition

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I have gone through the details and do understand your concern.Symptoms showing involvement of multiple systems like breathing difficulty, chest pain, stomach problem, sweating, anxiety, throat clearing behavior suggests some neurological or psychiatric cause.
I would suggest you to get her evaluated by a pediatrician for clinical evaluation and to rule out any stomach or respiratory problem and if she gets cleared, get her to a pediatric neurologist/psychiatrist for better result.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more queries.
Thanks and regards
