Suggest Treatment For Broken Ankles
Cahnces of blood clot are lesser than with a knee surgery.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
After an ankle surgery It takes usually 3-4 weeks for the bone to heal. Early ambulation can be done with a walking boot after 2 weeks. Lesser the period of bed rest, lesser will be the chances of blood clot or PE.
You can discuss regarding this with your operating surgeon so that appropriate investigations can be done and precautions can be taken to prevent the blood clot formation. Surgery is the best option for you as it will allow an early healing and early mobilization thus reducing the chances of blood clot formation.
I hope this answers your query.

The leg exercises will help in decreasing the chances of DVT considerably. Anticoagulation therapy will help further in reducing any further complication. You need not worry. You are already taking all the precautions. Do take pain killers as and when required. The pain will reduce considerably 2-3 days after the surgery.

If there is a considerable swelling at the site of fall and there is any visible bruise then you should get yourself examined. If the pain is mild and bearable with no increase in swelling or any new swelling then you can wait till Tuesday.
