Question: I went to the nail salon two weeks ago. The lady cut me with the electric razor. And I think she might have touched my cut. If she had a small cut in her finger. Could I have got hiv? I have bronchitis and oral thrush and I got tested yesterday and I am waiting for the results. I am really worried about it

Brief Answer:
Your HIV risk is negligible only.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome once again to HCM.
Thanks a lot for posting your queries.
Worrying for small things will lead to unnecessary mental tension.
The possibilities of the saloon girl to be a HIV positive and a cut over her finger are odd possibilities. If she is HIV negative there is no such possibility of HIV transmission at all. If she is a positive woman and if she had a cut injury over her finger (there she had no dressing for the wound?), touching your body with that finger has a negligible risk for HIV. This is not a common route of transmission for HIV. Daily so many people are visiting a saloon, parlor, hospitals etc. There is no such reports available for such transmission even then. Long term antibiotics for bronchitis can lead to oral thrush. Moreover many people complaints of oral thrush. But there might not be any such thing. It has to be confirmed by a physician.
