Brief Answer:
seems you have injured a bone

Detailed Answer:
Hi Ms XXXX
Hope this message finds you in good health.
I have gone through your complaints and understand your concern.

I generally see many cases like this at my clinic and generally found out that most of them have some sort of fracture underneath. We give them ice packs, rest, analgesics, compression bandage and rest for 5 days, and if necessary get an xray done.

In your case, you definatley have injured either your bone or ligaments to some extent. It will be ideal if you get an xray done and find out the exact cause. If its fractured ,it needs plaster splint application and rest, with non weight bearing for 3 -4 weeks.
But i feel you need to travel in 4 days or so.If its not possible to get an xray immediately, apply a compression bandage, avoid full weight bearing, keep the limb elevated on a pillow as far as possible.

Take analgesics, anti inflammatory drugs, continue ice packing.Avoid hot fomentation,it may increase the swelling.

You should eventually get back to normal in coming few days.Nothing to worry about, as long as i am there to help you.
I hope your question has been answered.
