Question: I have a question about an usual bump in my genital area, I am unsure what it is and fear it might be an STD, but hope it is only some type of harmless blemish. I am a 20 year old female.

Not likely to be due to STD

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query

You had mentioned as usual bump! That means used to get quiet often or persisting? How long you are having this menace? Is it painful or itchy? What about your sexual activity? Are you married or not?
The bump revealed by the photograph sent by you, does not seem to be due to STD.
Kindly furnish the details. We can discuss further.

I have not had this bump before, and it is not painful or itch. I have only had sex with one guy in my life for multiple years and I am not married.
Is it common for a bump like that in the picture to appear in that area and not be any form of an STD?

Brief Answer:
Unlikely be due to STD

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Still the exact duration of the lesion had not been mentioned. It is quite unlikely be due due to STD. It could be a cyst. So nothing to worry.

The exact duration is that it appeared and I had noticed it on August 1st. Is there any type of ointment or cream you suggest putting on it so it does not increase in size and to help it disappear?

Brief Answer:
Neither a furuncle nor Herpes nor folliculitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
As it is not painful and itchy and as it is not a vesicle going for ulceration by this time, it is neither a furuncle (boil) nor Herpes. Not fits with folliculitis as it is an isolated lesion. So it is unlikely to respond to any external application. you can try an antibiotic cream like Fusidic acid cream, Mupirocin or Povidone iodine ointment
You meet your Dermatologist or Gynecologist.
He/she will examine the lesion and palpate the lesion to know the consistency and tenderness and arrive at the diagnosis. As per his/her guidelines you plan your treatment.
Nothing serious. Get well soon.
