Suggest Treatment For Bumps On The Penile Shaft
Question: Hello. I am a little concerned with a small bump on the shaft of my penis. I have always had what looked to be a hair follicle with a small blackhead. I sometimes would be able to squeeze it but it would come back. Always pretty small so I wasn't concerned with it. However a few weeks ago I plucked a hair that was coming out of it and it left a small dark bump that I cannot even squeeze. Is there anything that I can try to get rid of this bump? Also, if I wanted to see a doctor to check it out, would a dermatologist be most apppropriate? Thanks so much

OK here is a picture. Stupidly I tried to squeeze it and pick at it because I was frustrated so it is irritated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you.
I have reviewed the Image.
It seems like a blocked hair follicle i.e a comedone.
Dont squeeze it. Let the irritation subside. You may use a topical antibacterial e.g mupirocin ointment Or fucidin ointment to help resolve it faster.
Once the irritation subsides, you may use a topical retinoid e.g retino- A 0.025% cream(contains tretinoin 0.025%), once daily at night, specifically over this spot. Use this cream sparingly as this cream can cause irritation if used excessively. This cream would help exfoliate the comedone.
