Brief Answer:
Please discontinue the Selsun Blue

Detailed Answer:
Hello Ms. XXXX,

I have to say that I am not familiar with leaving Selsun Blue on for 8 hours at time. This sounds like it would be very irritating and drying.

Sells Blue (selenium sulfide) has 3 established dermatological uses. Those are to be used on the scalp for dandruff; to be used on oily inflamed parts of the face for seborrheic dermatitis (around the nasal folds, above the upper lip, and around the hair line); and the 3rd use is for a specific type of fungal infections called Tinea Versicolor. It is not a general anti fungal, but can help this specific fungal infection.

However I can only find that it should be left on for 10 minutes at a time, and used daily or twice a day for 7 days.

Without seeing the status of your skin right now, I can make guesses based on what you told me but I would recommend this:
- Stop the Selsun Blue
- If your skin is very inflamed, but it is not a large area, you may benefit from a steroid cream
- Depending on the size of your rash, an anti fungal cream may be appropriate for treating the fungal infection.

Consider going into an urgent care clinic for immediate help with the rash, if that is possible.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
