Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation And Pain In Left Testicle

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Jun 2016
Question: I'm having intermittent mild burning sensation and slight pain in the left testicle. Also slight burning once in awhile during urination. I also seem to be urinating more often. Pain can sometimes be worse after ejaculation. Noticed also symptoms worsen when drinking coffee/alcohol. Very unlikely to be STD as I have one partner only. Could it be epididymitis or varicoceles? I have Cipro and could take this if recommended, but unsure of length of time needed to take this. Have had symptoms for approx. 2-3 months. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Left testicular inflammation is possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can fully understand your concern.

You could be having a mild inflammation of the left testis.
Get it examined by an Urologist,as a rectal examination(DRE),also is needed.
Carry out the following tests, for arriving at a diagnosis.
1. urine routine and culture.
2. blood routine, creatinine,RBS,LFT,platelets,VDRL,HIV,and HbsAg.
3. scrotal doppler ultrasound scan.

The reports will give an idea about the possible diagnosis.
Your doubt about varicocele and epididymitis, also will be known.

Better to wait for the reports, than to rush in with the antibiotic now.
You can take an anti-inflammatory tablet daily, till reports are available.
That will relieve your pain.

You can send the reports here for an expert opinion.
Wish you well.
