Brief Answer:
Yes, you are having laryngo-pharyngeal reflux...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query.

The symptoms are typical of Laryngo-pharyngeal reflux secondary to the acid reflux disease. You need to continue with Nexium 40mg. Also, you will require a prokinetic for a couple of weeks, along with dietary modifications.

With the Indirect Laryngoscopic examination using an IDL mirror, the doctor can examine the base of the tongue, epiglottis, true/false vocal cords, tracheal opening and opening of the oesophagus.

The signs of Laryngopharyngeal reflux are congested and granular posterior pharyngeal wall, edematous or congested arytenoids, inter-arytenoids and congestion of the posterior part of the vocal cords.

Hope I have answered your query; I will be available for the follow-up queries.

Brief Answer:
Laryngeal abnormalities can be examined by IDL...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Welcome back

Yes, if a doctor can see a normal throat through IDL mirror, he can definitely identify the cancerous lesion. I personally being an ENT Surgeon, I can confidently identify any abnormality in the larynx using a laryngeal mirror. If you are still skeptical about the doctor's findings, request for a video-laryngoscopic examination, which can reveal the finer details.

Hope this clears your doubts.

Brief Answer:
Continue with the medicines...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing back

The feeling of the bread sticks in the throat is because of the dryness of the throat and the inflamed mucosa rubbing against the base of the tongue. With the present set of medicines you will definitely feel better.

I wish you good luck and good health.
