Suggest Treatment For Burst External Hemorrhoid
Question: I have a single external hemorrhoid. It has bothered me only twice - once last summer and then again this week. Three days ago, after moving my bowels, I noticed a fair amount of blood on the toilet tissue and then again in my underwear. I presume it burst. The discomfort had virtually disappeared before the bleeding started. The bleeding has mostly, but not entirely stopped. Only the tiniest drop of blood and only if I go looking for it. My stools are not painful. Only a small amount of discomfort generally. Do I need to make an appointment with my PCP?
Brief Answer:
You do not need to see a PCP.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for using Healthcare Magic. From the information you have provided it is likely that the hemorrhoid has ruptured and will resolve with no further problems. You do not need to seek medical attention at present. If the bleeding should re-start or you should experience significant pain then this would be a sign to see a doctor. However, I think this would be an unlikely development.
I hope this is of help. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
