Question: My partner has just had radio ablation on a cancer nodual in her lung, she had this done about first about a year ago which did not work properly then and the cancer started growing again, this time they tried to do it but it was not successful again because it was to close to the heart. a history of COPD and associated breathing problems, she has been given a choice of three options 1,surgey which obviously carries a risk due to her breathing problems,2 Collapse the lung to try and move it away from the heart in order to carry out the ablation again.3 Kimo therapy to try to shrink it in order to try ablation again. Could you advise what might be the best treatment and if there is any other options.

Brief Answer:
Trial of chemotherapy to shrink the size of nodule is indicated in her case

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Amongst the three options have mentioned, best option is third one.
Trial of chemotherapy to shrink the size of nodule is indicated. This is to make tumour less bulky, so that surrounding structures like heart can be saved.
Please let me know
1. Has she ever undergone chemotherapy?
