Suggest Treatment For Canker Sore On Gum

default
Posted on Fri, 18 Dec 2015
Question: I have had what I think is a canker sore on my bottom gum for about a little less than 2 weeks now. It hurts less than it did last week, but I'm still concerned because it's still there. It looks like it's in a pocket in my gum if that makes sense. I'm a very big hypochondriac so I always assume the worst. Looking for some piece of mind! I can feel it with my tongue. I hope that photo is clear (i had to stretch it as i took a selfie on my iphone.)

Thanks in advanced!!

Im a healthy 25 year old otherwise!

Brief Answer:
Looks like a Canker Sore..

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX .

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your symptoms and the image attached it looks like a Canker Sore.
A Canker Sore can take about 8 to 10 days to resolve..
As it had started hurting less it means that it has started healing gradually and you need not to worry..
As of now you can take a multivitamin tablet daily for 10 days..
Apply a numbing gel containing Lignocaine or Choline Salicylate over the sore if it pains..
Do warm saline gargles..
Do not touch it again and again with your tongue..
Also do not eat anything too spicy/hot as it will delay the healing process further..
It will resolve in another one week or even less..

Any further questions are welcome..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.

Thanks Dr. How do you explain that little "pocket" where the canker sore is? I feel like it just appeared out of nowhere.

Brief Answer:
It is over the mucosa..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome Again..

As per your query Canker Sore can appear at any point of time only and it is nothing to be worried about..

It is over the mucosa and not in any pocket..

So better do not worry, continue with the remedies I advised before..

You will be perfectly alright..

Hope this information helps..
