Suggest Treatment For Canker Sores

Question: My 6 week old has been recently eating good her fists also like she's in discomfort. I just looked inside her mouth and she has and ulcer/blister on her top gum. I am worried because I have a coldsore.
Brief Answer:
Cold sores are uncommon in the mouth!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this ulcer/blister that you have found on the upper gum in your daughters's mouth, ,The location makes it highly unlikely to have been a cold sore from you. Treat this just like any other normal mouth ulcers by managing the pain with tylenol. Otherwise, resolution is spontaneous.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.

Thank you doctor. I thought a newborn would get a blister if they had picked up and infection from me, is this not the case?
Also can you suggest why she has it or what it might be from?
She is in a lot of discomfort these past few days. She is only 6 weeks.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Most likely not from you because of the location!
Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks for this follow up query.
These mouth sores(canker sores) are often without any specific cause. If this were a cold sore from you, the location would be very different from the current. Tylenol will help with the pain and the sore would regress spontaneously.
I wish you both well.
