Brief Answer:
BNP is not enough, cardiac echo needed...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

1. High BNP (160) is indicating that you have congestive heart failure (CHF).

2. This is an indicator for the prognosis of CHF. The more it is elevated, the severer the CHF will be. AS a rule BNP levels 100-300 pg/mL suggest HF is present, above 300 pg/mL indicate mild heart failure, above 600 pg/mL indicate moderate heart failure and above 900 pg/mL indicate severe heart failure

3. However, CHF is not enough to evaluate your current heart condition. If you were my patient, I'd ask to run cardiac echo and evaluate the overall picture. If you have a copy of the most recent cardiac echo you did, you can send it to me for further analysis.

Hope it helped!
