Suggest Treatment For Cervical Stenosis And Shoulder Pain After Vaccination Shot
Question: Hi, I received the second pneumococcal vaccine shot this past Thursday and didn't expect or notice anything healthwise. Yesterday I had some pain in the left shoulder where I received the shot and I noticed some pain and swelling in what my wife (30 years ago she was an RN) and I deduced as my adenoids. I have a severe case of cervical stenosis and shoulder pain is not unusual. My wife said her adenoids swell occasionally so I buried the pain in my mind. This afternoon I started having pain in my left armpit which was a more burning type of pain. Tonight the pain is going up the left side of my neck on the outside and I inspected the area in the mirror. I now have rash spreading from my neck, behind my ear and proceeding down the top and front of my chest. I got a little concerned at that point and remembered receiving the shots (I also received the flu vaccine). Should I go to an emergency room? I don't feel sick per se.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
thanks for writing to us.
I understand you have a rash and pain in armpit after Vaccine shot s.
It could be allergic reaction to Vaccine
I suggest you to visit ER as soon as possible even if you don't feel sick.
This is because the reaction can go out of control if not attended to.
You can try antihistamine like Allegra or fexofenadine till you visit your doctor.
Wishing you good health and speedy recovery.
