Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain, Tiredness And Lack Of Sleep
i am a perfectly healthy woman of 35 with no major issues of BP, diabetes or anything else. just that i suffer from anxiety and panic attacks for which i am taking medication . however , i have bn smoking for the last 5 yrs . less than a pack a day or sometimes more if i am drinking . i have fear of heart-attack and i have done numerous ecg tests and once a stress test to be sure if i have heart problems. all reports are normal but i sometimes get worried when i get a slight pain in the chest which in no way is similar to a chest pain for heart attack . but i feel tired always, never get good sleep and have loads of work stress. do u think i should take another ecg ? what should i do to quit smoking . please donot suggest medicines and patches
I do not thing you need ecg but there is need to manage stress

Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I do not think you need ecg but there is definite need to manage stress. I understand that you are taking medication but unfortunately that is not sufficient to tackle your symptoms and you are using alcohol and smoking as self medication to deal with things.
Even the symptoms you mentioned are indicative of stress and not of heart disease. having said this for a 35 year young women there is no reason to have heart attack when she is otherwise healthy.
Regarding smoking if you are not willing for medications and patches the next strategy is to go for counselling to a psychologist in your city. She will do motivational interviewing (MI) to help you to quit smoking. I must acknowledge that MI is done after knowing all the strengths and weaknesses and there is no method to deliver MI over internet.
I hope this assists you.
Thanks and regards.
as i mentioned in my earlier question that i am on rexipra fx for the last 6 months. recently i was asked to take zicam 0.5 for 10 dys and 0.25 for another 10 dys and completely stop it . the course got over last wednesday or thursday. i shifted to a new place and since then i have been not getting sleep . today i feel extremely panicky plus i have work stress . could this be because of discontinuation of the medicine or stress related or because of smoking or less sleep . i dont want to take sos medicine so please tell me how should i calm myself down
It could be due to stress

Dear Dutta,
Thanks for reverting back to me.
The difficulty in sleep could be anything among the mentioned factors but there is more possibility of either stress or change of place.
Sleeplessness due to stoppage of medication least likely as it was done in delicate manner in shortest possible time.
The best thing to manage the problem with sleep is to observe sleep hygiene.
I hope you know what I mean by sleep hygiene, if not you can see the details in the following article.

i already take medicine for anxiety and depression . hope these withdrawal symptoms wont make life impossible for me . how long will they remain ?
For one to two weeks
Detailed Answer:
Dear Dutta,
Thanks for follow up.
It is possible that you will feel mild withdrawal symptoms since you take the medication but at the same time it is possible that you may get more symptoms as there is existing anxiety and depression.
Regarding duration they stay for one to two weeks and remit spontaneously over a period of time.
I hope this clarifies.
Thanks again.
