Hi!

Welcome to health care magic!

I am Dr. Saddiq Ul Abidin. I have read your problem in detail and will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all it is so sad to know about the problems you have been suffering lately. However it would have been more helpful if you had shared the details that what lead you to such condition? What us your age and other premorbids? Reason or indication to be catheterized? And for how long have you been on catheter? All these details are helpful in determining a solution to your issues.

Yes! You figured it right. These catheters inhabitat the bacteriae and can be a big cause of UTI. I need to know that whether you have a latex catheter or one made of silicon? As both have different lives and latex ones can't be left for long term uses.

Also that to get over with recurrent UTIs you need to have a culture and sensitivity test of urine along with urinalysis and select antibiotic after finding the exact bug responsible, and the antibiotic to which it is sensitive to. That way, these infections can be cleared more efficiently. Also discus with your urologist to come up with some permanent solution apart from this catheter plan.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. kindly rate me before closing, and leave your feedback if possible.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ul abidin.
