Suggest Treatment For Chronic Diarrhea And Weight Loss
Some tests recommended- important to rule out possible causes
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
Diagnosing the cause of chronic diarrhea it is very complicated and requires a lot of tests and several visits/follow-ups.
My recommendations would be:
-- Stool for ova and parasites- to check if you have any of the parasites which give chronic diarrhea
-- Stool for occult blood and colonoscopy to rule out colon cancer.
-- Try avoiding milk products and gluten for some days and see if you see any improvement, because many people are intolerant from them for many years and understand when they do this test.
If worse or not better, I would recommend seeing a local doctor.
Hope this is helpful.

Could it be my medications.
I had a colonoscopy 3 years ago and it was ok could it be my meds
It is not common such a long time diarrhea from medications
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow-up question.
This is a very good observation.
I actually looked at your medication before I submitted your first answer, and any of them does not give diarrea in particular, but like all the medications that may give upset stomach when you are in beginning of a new drug.
After all every person reacts differently to different medications.
If you remember that this diarrhea has started after you started on any of them, then for sure that is the cause.
But on the other side the body gets addapted to medications after a while so it is not common for that side effect to continue for such long time.
So I would still suggest to consider following the above recommendations. It good that you have ruled out the posibility of a cancer with the colonoscopy.
Hope this is helpful and answers your question.
