Cause of your symptoms and need more information about bump
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxx, thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. The left side chronic headache, earache and sore eyes mean you are having one illness on left side which is affecting all these areas. The ear (Eustachian tube), eye (nasolacrimal duct) and frontal bone (air sinus) all open in nasal cavity. The disease of nose can affect all the areas at one time.
Nasal illness like
- Rhinitis - bacterial or allergic can cause above symptoms
- Sinusitis of nasal air sinuses - It can cause swelling in nose and thus blockage of all ducts
- Nasal polyp left side nasal cavity
- Nasal and nasopharyngeal mass
To rule out these illness, you must consult ENT specialist. he will examine your nose, nasopharynx to confirm.
Other possibilities, if no illness, can be
- Left side Migraine headache
- Left side bump - The bump information is incomplete. Kindly let me know whether
; it is pus filled or not
; it is invading in bone or not
; any biopsy or imaging of the bump
; did any doctor tell you what is it
; is it growing in size
Usually skin bump at this site are sebaceous cyst or dermoid. But I need to know above details to find out whether that bump is dangerous or not and is there any relation between that bump and your symptoms.
Hope it will help you. If still in doubt, do let me know.
Thanks.
Take care
the bump is a hard immovable lump which has appeared over a year and grown in the last 2 months.
I had a CT scan last week, a blood test yesterday and I dont get the results back until after new year.
but the headaches are driving me mad.
will have to wait and see I suppose.
Lump needs further evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxx, welcome back.
After going through your question, I can say this lump carries significance. If it is hard and immovable lump, it means it is a bony lump. the possibilities are
- Osteoma
- Fibrous dysplasia
- Osteoid osteoma
- Calcified meningioma with bone erosion
There are so many possibilities. We must wait for CT head report. If there will be doubt, there is need of biopsy. Biopsy can confirm the lesion.
For headcahe, you can take any of these medication after prescription
- Tablet Acetaminophen and caffeine combination
- Tablet Diclofenac and Paracetamol combination
Hope it will help. Please let me know the CT report or you can send me the CT images, I will guide you further.
If still any doubt, do let me know. Thanks. Take care
