Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in Healthcaremagic.com.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
Proctitis can have many causes and in many cases, it is idiopathic i.e. no reason can be found. Malabsorption and infections are other common causes.
Yes, it can lead to incomplete evacuation of bowels.
One cannot definitely tell about complete cure unless the cause is not identified but decrease in severity of symptoms can be done.
In patients coming with such symptoms, I generally advise the following-

Diet modification- avoiding rich spicy diet, small frequent meals to take, taking lots of water and oral fluid, taking lots of dietary fibers or fiber supplements, avoiding alcohol and smoking if any.
Exercise- daily exercise like brisk running, cycling, swimming are very effective and it enhances metabolism.
A course of ampicillin or ciprofloxacin might be helpful.
Lactulose syrup with ispaghula husk at night. Once, some regularity is restored, one may stop these gradually.
Pantoprazole-levosulpiride in the morning for a month.

You can consult the above with your treating or family doctor and get these prescribed.

Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.
