Good evening
Thank you for writing on health care magic
I have gone through your history. As I see you have underlying lupus. But your medication list doesn't show any medications for it. It is a bit important to know here since you have been having the chest infection for almost 3 weeks now. With lupus in the background we need to investigate it a bit further. So if you could throw some light on it, it would be more helpful.
But as of cough and cold you have been suffering from 3 weeks I will advise you start a course of antibiotics. A combination of augmentin and clavulanic acid would be a good choice. Have a cough syrup along with it.Since you don't have insurance, I will suggest we can give you a try of antibiotics. If the symptoms persist or they increase after 3 days of it s course, I would suggest you get an x ray of the chest done along with few blood reports.
You have been taking lot of painkillers for the low backache as well. Well that will need some evaluation if it is an inflammatory pain or some mechanical factor. I wouldn't advise you to take painkillers for that long as it can harm your kidneys. But let's try managing your cough right now so at least there would be less pressure on the back.

Good evening
Not having insurance in a chronic disease like lupus can be a bit difficult to manage. Right now you probably have a chest infection and I would recommend you to start the antibiotics I had suggested. I hope you can get them with local doctor prescription or from the pharmacy. If it doesn't get better we will need to evaluate further.
But I do want to know why you can't get insurance at this stage? The spine problem you have can also be taken care of with a simple injection in the facet joint along with physiotherapy. That will relieve you of the continuous pain killers you are on. With a background of lupus that many pain killers shouldn't be taken as it can affect the kidneys quickly.
If you are still not able to get insurance and pursue your treatment do let me know, we will figure a way out. But yes I wouldn't want you to be off treatment for a condition like lupus.
Do let me know for more queries
