Suggest Treatment For Chronic Neck Pain
i also seen a dentist for possible TMJ i have a night guard. i do not have TMJ
Can you please provide the tests reports you have run so far?
Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
I am sorry for the painful situation you are going through.
Now, let me recapitalize your case:
- 58 years old female
- 1 year with pain on right side neck; swelling of the jaw line 3 times, then goes away
- tests done so far: ultrasound, ct-scan, ENT examination
- medications tried: 2 different antibiotics, 2 tapered doses of prednisone; gabapentin to decrease the pain
Now, if you have been on antibiotics, that makes me think that a site of infection have been diagnosed. As you have done so many tests, can you please provide the reports so I can analyze them myself?
Next, if you have pain and swelling of jaw line, then, we should consider:
- bad teeth?
- ear infection?
- throat infection?
- arthritis of the jaw?
That's why I need to see your reports first before running into final conclusion.
All the best!

I also want to explain the neck pain a little bit more. The pain seems to start just under the the ear like it is pulling at my ear then it radiates down the neck following the carotid artery. All my VS are stable and I have never had a fever. I am going to check into possible Eustachian tube blockage.
Eustachian tube blockage or any other ear problems to rule out by ENT
Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,
Thank you for the details you provided.
If everything is ok with your teeth, then, I'm still thinking of any problems with your middle ear including Eustachian tube. So, better check with ENT specialist.
All the best.
