Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mom had gullbladder lipascopic surgery 3 days or so ago and is now experiencing a throbbing pain in her carotid artery in her neck, should we take her to the emergency room? I also thought to check her bloodpressure after reading some articles. Was wondering if this throbbing was do to anestesia, or the surgery its self?
It is unrelated to gall bladder surgery. As first-line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and plan for a carotid artery Doppler.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
