Brief Answer:
nonpharmacologic therapy and nonopioid pharmacologic therapy are preferred for chronic pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello! I have been through your question.

You should know that a nonpharmacologic therapy and nonopioid pharmacologic therapy are preferred for chronic pain.

Opioids should not be considered first-line or routine therapy for chronic pain.
Furthermore you should know that long-term opioid use for chronic pain is associated with serious risks including increased risk for opioid use disorder, overdose, myocardial infarction, etc.

But usually we should consider opioid therapy only if expected benefits for both pain and function are anticipated to outweigh risks to the patient.
If opioids are used, they should be combined with nonpharmacologic therapy and nonopioid pharmacologic therapy, as appropriate.

Several nonopioid pharmacologic therapies ,including acetaminophen, Nonsteroidal Anti Inflammatories Drugs (ibuprofen, diclofenac, etodolac, indomethacin, naproxen, ketorolac etc), and anticonvulsants (pregabalina or gabapentina) are effective for chronic pain. In particular, acetaminophen and NSAIDs can be useful for arthritis and back pain.

I hope my answer helps you.
