Suggest Treatment For Chronic Pain In Epigastric Region And Weight Gain
I have had svt and had it ablated via cardiac ablation in 2006. Ever since and a prior to, I have had pvcs which I feel. This has caused me great distress and I have been to my cardio many times. My last echo was summer 2012 and was "normal". My last monitor was a two week monitor and picked up some bi and trigeniny along with the pvcs. My question is are pvcs dangerous? When should one be concerned about them and how do people deal with them. I have trouble going out and being social because of the fear they br
ing on.
Also since my weight gain I have had a chronic on again off again gnawing pain in my upper epigastric region. It is worse immediately after eating and flares with spicey or greasy food. Could this be a hiatal.hernia? Acid reflux? An ulcer? it is stabbing birning pain in between my bra and belly button??
Not all PVC's dangerous
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You had not mentioned whether you had structural heart disease like previous heart attack, valve problems etc. That really is important. If there is previous heart disease then the treatment for PVC is different as we assess the risk for cardiac death.
If there is no heart disease and no symptoms as I do not find any description of complaints but fear and worry alone; I would just ask you repeat the consultations with the treating doctor even without any medications. It helps you to speak to the doctor once in three months / six months. You should be concerned if you have symptoms or ejection fraction is less than 40%.
The stress and worry actually aggravate the PVC's. So you should learn the other methods to deal with stress may be yoga, mediation, relaxing techniques.
The other abdominal pain that you talk about reminds me of ulcer in the stomach. You should use antacids for immediate pain relief. Also you should not use pain killers, spicy stuff at all. you should consult a GI specialist. Sometimes ulcers have reflux as well.
Hope this answers your question.
