TMD, vertigo and local numbnes
Detailed Answer:
Hi!
Welcome to health care magic!
I am Dr. Saddiq Ul Abidin. I have read your problem in detail and will try to help you in best way possible.
First of all it is sad to know about the problems you have been facing lately. But based on the history you have shared, it seems to be needing immediate ENT consultation and review as the work up and dental review you had mentioned doesn't seem to be enough and not covering every aspect of the symptoms you have described.
Actually the involvement of left ear with symtoms of pain and preceeding history of vertigo can raise the need to exclude the middle and inner ear infections and apart from that, the temporo-mendibular joint involvement and it's prime location in skull can cause spread of inflammation in temporal part of skull bone, bony air sinuses and organs involved.
All these possibilities can present with vertigo as well as pressure symptoms leading to nerve compression causing numbness and tingling in the temporal branches of nerves supplying the area.
To exclude all these possibilities you may be asked to undergo CT or MRI of skull with ear and sinuses, by an ENT specialist and meanwhile for symptomatic relief, analgesics and for vertigo serc or stemetil may be prescribed. A prophylactic antibiotic course may be needed if local tenderness or fever is observed. Nerve conduction studies can also help for localisation of the involved nerves if any.
Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. kindly rate me generously before closing, and leave your feedback if possible.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ul abidin.
