Suggest Treatment For Clogged Pores And Acne
Question: My face was full of clogged pores. Now I had an overnight breakout and my face is full of acne and clogged pores. My doctor prescribed me acnovate. But he asked me to apply it all-over the face and not just on pimples. The acne is clearing up but the clogged pores patches have become quite itchy and remains irritated all the time. Is it because of applying acnovate on them? Should I apply acnovate just on the pimples. Please advise
Brief Answer:
Yes acnovate is causing irritation and itching
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
Itching and irritation in clogged pores can be due to application of acnovate gel on the entire face as it contains adapelene which has an irritant potential.
You should apply acnovate gel only on the pimples and not on entire face.
