Suggest Treatment For Cold And Dry Cough

Question: Hi Doctor I have cold and dry cough from a couple of days. I also have a stuffed nose for which I am using a nasal spray Otrivin. I have tried cough syrup XXXXXXX for a day and for cold I have tried Nicip Plus. However I dont think its working much. I also have throat irritation probably due to cough. Could you please advice on medication that I can try?

- Steam inhalation 3-4 times daily.
- Continue with the cough syrup you are using presently.
- A short course of antibiotic will surely prove benefitial for you to overcome the symptoms soon enough. I would suggest you to take Tab. Azithromycin 500mg for three days. As this is a prescription drug, you need to get it prescribed by a local doctor.
- You may also consider using cough lozenges which will relieve any irritation and dryness.
- If you seem to have any throat itching or symptoms like nasal block, running nose, sneezing tc, you can take The. Sinarest twice daily for 3-5 days.
