Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health conern and do let me know about following questionnaire for better understanding of your problem:
1. Are you suffering from repeated cold attacks or it is just a common cold superimposed on your existing problem?
2. Since sinus problem is there (probably maxillary) thus have you consulted an ENT physician for evaluation and examination?
3. How long have you been suffering from sinus problem and apart from headaches do you get sneezing,watering of nose, lack of smell,post nasal drip,stuffy nose?
4. Duration of taken antibiotics and present course of Ayurveda drugs.
PS. are you following only medicines or is there any dietary modifications also given.

2. I have consulted ENT surgeon and used antribiotics for a period of 15 days and also x ray was also taken which indicated slight sinus on left side. The use of antibiotics has not given any relief. Prior to the consulting ent surgeon, I have extensively used Mahalaxmi XXXXXXX ras, trisun tablets and vyoshadi vati.
3. The sinus problem is from feb,2015.
4. I am taking mostly light food. and in night before going to bed I am now drinking milk with cooked garlic and turmeric.
5. Presently, I am taking Migrasar tablets and patyadi kwath for the past three days'

Dear
Thanks for reverting back.
1. Since problem is existing from last 5 months thus Acute stage is changing to Chronic Sinusitis thus and do consult again with ENT surgeon whether surgical correction/resurrection is needed or not.
2. DIETARY REGIME
i. Avoid: heavy, slimy and acidic food, curd, mustard oil, excess physical exertion, sunlight-dust areas, exposure to strong winds, day sleeping, smoking
. Potato, green leafy vegetables. Cold water/food
. Take: old brown rice, soup of moong dal, black grapes, cow’s or goat milk, garlic, lukewarm water to drink, black pepper, dried ginger, honey, mulethi, launga
. Take Raw ginger+ raw turmeric: [2 gm each] and fry in cow’s ghee [6 gm] and thereafter add 6 gm jaggery and take at bed time [during night]
3. MEDICAL MANAGEMENT
Successful prescription for you will be
i. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX ras+ shringa bhasma+ Shuddha man shila+ madhuyashti/sitopladi churan: twice a day with cow’s ghee
ii. Chitrak haritki: at bed time [20gm]
iii. Vyoshadi churan: after meals, two times

i. In Ayurveda we hold that nose is the gateway to head, thus start practicing NASYA [errhine therapy], after consulting/guidance of an Ayurveda physician [with shadbindu tail]
PS. If there is deviated nasal septum, avoid use of Nasya
ii. take high protein diet ( egg (white), soyamilk, pumpkin, squash, watermelon, peanuts, almonds, if non-vegetarian (meat) are choices , legumes, sprouted pulses/cereals, milk with protein powder and deep breathing Exercises [anulom vilom]
iii. Vitamin A: helps to maintain Thymus gland which is a powerful antiviral gland: thus XXXXXXX carrots, cantaloupe, egg yolk, apricots, pumpkin, papaya, are ideal.
iv. Vitamin C: is needed for proper functioning of immune system: amla [india gooseberry] is best
v. Vitamin E: is a powerful anti oxidant which helps to stimulate antibody
production: peanuts, dried apricots, cooked spinach, taro root can be taken
PS. Autohaemo Injection: In my Clinical practice I usually withdraw 4 ml of patient's blood and inject immediately, deep IM, in gluteal region for stimulation of immune system.
