Suggest Treatment For Cold And Throat Pain

Male
Sep 24th : I experienced slight cold and throat pain started after cold is gone(had cold only for 8hours ) . After that i have taken Allegra-D for 3 days every 12 hours 1 tablet. Pain went away and after stopping the medication , again throat pain started while swallowing and very uncomfortable feeling. I didn't have any cough or fever.
After contacting a doctor, it was diagnosed as allergic rhinitis because of pnd. And got prescribed for Montelukast + levocetrizine. After using montelukast felt relief (used it for 1 week) but again after stopping the medication pain came back but this time it was far worse. The symptoms are : Throat pain on the left side, tightness in throat, slight ear discomfort, large Swollen neck glands . This time i started using antibiotics on other doctors advice. Amoxiccilin + potassium clavunate 625 mg every day thrice . I used it and got relief , swollen gland decreased size. With out using any pain killer . Using that tablet and its 5th day today. Now i am again felling pain in throat but this its both left and right side . What is the actual problem?

Hello
Thanks for the query
It looks like you are having recurrent throat infections. It could be either due to allergic rhinitis, tonsilitis or because of sinusitus. This is how you should go about it
1. Approach an ENT specialist and get a x ray of the para nasal sinuses. This will tell us if your sinuses are infected or not.
2. Examination of the tonsils during the time of throat pain can tell us if there is recurrent infection of the tonsils
3. Frequent sneezing, especially in the mornings and frequent cold are signs of allergic rhinitis
It is important to know what is causing the throat pain because for each the treatment is different. Giving anti biotics and pain relief is only a temporary measure
I hope I was of help if you have any further queries please get back to me

Hello
Thanks for getting back
I have seen the pictures of your throat. It looks like there is inflammation of the posterior pharynx ( the back part of the throat) however I cannot say for sure as the camera flash makes the mucosa look more red than normal.
Unfortunately in the picture the tonsils are not visible.
