Suggest Treatment For Cold, Fever And Throat Pain

Question: Hello Doctor,

My wife is undergoing severe throat pain and she is unable to tolerate and this happens only in the evening.

She was treated for cold and fever and for the past 15 days this is going on.

Medicines:

Taxim O, Monoleo, Dolo 650 for 5 days was given

Bactoguard, Deriphelin and Lavetam for another 5 days was given.

Her cold and fever subsided. However dry cough continues.
Throat swab culture test is given today morning. However the doctor has prescribed few medicines for relief, which are

T. Levmon-L 1 in the night for 15 days
Syp. Breasyls 2 tsp (m-a-n) for 1 week
Turmpure 1-1 (M-N) for 5 days

Culture test report will take 2 to 3 days.

However she is unable to bear the throat pain, is there any medicine which will subside her throat pain till the time report is received.

Kindly advise.

Give her combination of painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
For pain relief you should give her combination of painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs.
Painkiller like aceclofenac or diclofenac and anti inflammatory drug like paracetamol.
These will subside pain and inflammation in the throat.
Along with drugs following things will also reduce throat pain.
1. Avoid oily and spicy.
2. Avoid stress and tension. Avoid hard to chew food.
3. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep herself hydrated.
4. Do warm water gargles 5-6 times a day.
Don't worry, she will be alright with all these.
