Question: I developed a cold sore late last night and am out of acyclovir with no refills prescribed to me at this time. I had two pills left in the bottle and have taken them with almost no improvement. The cold sore is continuing to grow. Is there a stronger medication that I could be taking that would be more affective? I have small children and don't want to spread this to them. I also have denovir. It hasn't helped much either. My doctor's office is closed. Would you be able to prescribe me anything?

The blisters are filled with clear, yellow fluid. 3-weeping stage: At the end of Blister stage, the lips may be virtually disfigured by a large crop of blisters.
