Brief Answer:
injection avastin
Detailed Answer:
hi dear.
The treatment given so far is good. if the disease is still progressive means tumor has become resistant.
Still an option of injection avastin is there. This can inhibit growth of tumor leading to improved survival.
Now you should consult your oncologist and discuss about using this drug.
feel free to ask further.

Only Avastin? Or with another kind of chemo?
Only Avastin? Or with another kind of chemo?
Brief Answer:
Can be combined with 5FU
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear.
Welcome again.
avastin injection can be combined with any of the conventional chemotherapies. Or it may be given alone. Since irinotecan is recently given, it should be combined with 5FU and leucovorine. But the decision should be taken by your treating oncologist based on the condition of patient.
The treatment of such an aggressive disease at this stage is a difficult thing.
So to decide that the chemotherapy should be given further or not should be based on the clinical expertise of doctor and patient's general condition.
Actually at this stage instead of aiming at increasing survival, we should try to improve quality of life. There is no meaning of increasing duration of life with pain.
So discuss all these issues with your doctor.

how to improve the quality of life?
Brief Answer:
quality of life means life without pain
Detailed Answer:
hi. good morning.
improving quality of life means patient should be symptom free. she should be able to do her daily routine without much assistance. there should be no pain.
when we give chemotherapy side effects also occur which may decrease quality of life.
so according to patient's status, dose of drug should be given to have minimal side effects like weakness.
