Suggest Treatment For Constant Cough While Having Leiomyosarcoma

Question: Hi doctor, my father agreed 56 is suffering from leiomyosarcoma. He has been operated (lobectomy) an year back and right now due to metastasis he is undergoing chemotherapy. 2 cycles has been completed. The only significant problem he is facing is continuous cough, because of which he is unable to even sleep. Can you please suggest any medicine. We have already tried all cough syrup including corex.

Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your problem.
This type of dry unproductive cough is really very problemetic.
In my opinion you can try cough syrups containing codeine.
You must discuss with your treating doctor about it and take prescription from him since it is a prescription product.
There are various such type of codeine containing products available in market like...
Linctus codeine,grillinctus CD,Codistar cough syrup etc.
Dose given is 10 ml three times a day.
Codeine can cause constipation also so take care about it.
