What Causes Vertigo After Having Thyroid Lobectomy?

Hi! I had a thyroid lobectomy 6 days ago and this morning I awoke with vertigo. I feel fine as long as I keep my head perfectly still, but every time I move my head the room starts spinning and I lose all balance. I ve never had this before. Could this be related to my surgery?

Hello,

No, it is not related to your surgery, you perhaps suffer from an ear infection that causes these symptoms, you can take betaserc tab 16 mg twice per day for this vertigo.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
