Suggest Treatment For Constipation After Viral Fever
The 2 problems right now are:
1> The cold is a bit still there inside him, and he coughs a bit (not often though). Doctor has advised to continue giving him Asthalin for few more days.
2> The main trouble is he has not passed any stool in the past 3 days. His food intake has gone down a bit from what he used to have prior to the viral. He is not liking his milk any more. Water intake is also on the lower side.
What should we do?
He is on path of recovery
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Namasthe XXXX
As there is no fever and he is active denotes he is on path of recovery.
I would suggest you the following
1. Normal Saline Nebulization using Nebuliser
2. Decoction : To a cup of milk + 20 tulsi leaves + 2 black pepper + 2 gm of fresh ginger + 1 spoon of turmeric + 2 spoon of sugar. Bring it to boil. Filter it and feed him warm twice a day
3. Make him sip one spoon of honey with 2 drops of lemon added twice a day
4. Dulcolax Pediatric suppository inserted into the anus will make him pass stools.
Do not worry his appetite will improve .
Keep a watch on his urine output.
Do keep me updated about progress.
Take care

Thanks for the response. His urine output has lessened indeed. It was much higher previously.
Any pointers on that?

Multivitamin supplements will be helpful
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Greetings
Dear Mr XXXXXXX
Following respiratory tract infection or any short illness there is loss of appetite in children . It usually normalise over 1 to 2 weeks.
If he refuses to drink milk, you can give milk in other forms.
Here are few suggestions
1. Mix milk with smashed banana
2. You can make Atta ka sira, add milk in place of water
3. Multivitamin syrup : Children usually have glossitis (inflammation of tongue) following illness. Multivitamin supplements will help resolve it
4. Feed whatever the baby accepts or likes , till the liking for milk is back to normal.
Wishing your baby a happy and healthy life

Deepak
