Suggest Treatment For Constipation And Back Pain
Question: My friend is 72 years old with good health and is vvery active. He was in a meeting for a long time today and then had a fried fish meal about 2pm. On arriving at my house we had another meeting at 7pm. He then began to suffer from constipation, stomach ache and a lot of gas. He vomited about 10pm and is now still complaining about the constipation and stomach and back pain with a lot of gas. Its 1230am now.

You can repeat the dose of Prilosec to provide symptomatic relief in gases.
If possible antispasmodic like Dicyclomine can be given to provide relief in spasmodic pain.
Go for stool routine and microscopy test ,If stool test is positive for bacterial infection,Therapy with Antibiotic like Cefixime(Amlocef) and anti protozoal like metronidazole can be given for 3 days.
He should take probiotics like Benifiber for few days,it will help improving overall digestion.
Lactulose can be given to provide relief in constipation.
Easily digestible food should be taken for few days.
If not relieved repeat Ultrasound abdomen
