Suggest Treatment For Constipation And Gastric Problem

Question: Was on the XXXXXXX diet. Went off last week after constipation so I could eat more fiber. Have had bowel movements since, but stomach still feels strange - like I have to vomit, especially when standing up. How long do you think until this goes away and should I not go back on diet?
Brief Answer:
Gastritis
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query
It looks like you are suffering from gastritis. Here are my suggestions to you
1. Be on a liquid diet for now. You might not tolerate solid diet.
2. Avoid caffeine, milk and milk products
3. Do not lie down flat, head end should be slightly elevated
4. Tab Pantoprazole with domperidone is the ideal tablet to be taken at the moment.
5. Avoid smoking and alcohol
I suggest that you follow the XXXXXXX diet only after you get better. It might take a couple of days for you to get better.
Regards

Thanks very much Dr. Madhyastha.
On a liquid diet, can I have non-caffeinated soda and/or lemonade?
Also, I assume is Tab Pantoprazole with domperidone is by prescription only. Is there anything over the counter that would work or should I get my family doctor to prescribe this?
Thanks again!

Brief Answer:
Follow up
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for getting back, I am sorry for the short delay in my response, there was an emergency in my ward which took time
I recommend that you stick to just water. Lemonade and non caffeinated soda are acidic which could aggravate the nausea. It is a common myth that soda helps to relieve gastritis
