You can take fruit (pomegranate/orange/sweet lime or musambi) juices with added sugar,
glucose water, coconut water, buttermilk, vegetable soups, chicken soup etc. Till you are given
liquid diet, you will feel hungry and a little low in energy but considering the fact that your digestive system has become weak due to
typhoid, you are kindly advised to follow the prescribed diet till your intestines recover enough to tolerate solid foods as you still have stomach ache, right? Hope you understand that your intestines are still recovering and cannot be taxed with solid foods only to worsen the situation. Have liquids at the rate of 150-200 ml/2hrly to meet some of your energy needs.
Make sure utmost care is taken while preparing liquid feeds for you to avoid any contamination. Avoid taking juices from local vendors/shopkeepers owing to poor hygiene standards maintained by them.
Once you are able to tolerate liquid feeds well without any symptoms like
diarrhoea,
vomiting or
abdominal pain, you can gradually begin with semi solid foods like khichdi, well-cooked mashed dal and soft rice and suji or semolina pudding, curd/paneer, banana. For increasing energy, you can add butter/ghee or cream to foods. For soups, you can use cream or butter and
corn starch (for thickening) and for extra energy.
Later, you can have the above foods and include starchy foods for increasing your energy intake such as sago or sabudana khichdi, sago kheer/rice kheer/vermicelli kheer/boiled potato with light seasoning, semolina pudding or upma.
Hope this will help you in recovering quickly after illness. Take care.
