Suggest Treatment For Constipation, Hard Stool And Headache
I have test all the std but all test out as non reative
Need more information.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic,
It seems you are having constipation with passing of hard stools and headcahe.
Here, I would like to ask few questions to have a more information regarding your problem.
1) Since how many days you have hard stool and headache?
2) Do you experience any pain while passing stool?
3) Do you feel any abdominal discomfort ? If it is there, do you feel relief of this discomfort after passing stool?
4) Any history of episodes of loose stools in between the hard stools?
5) Do you had a exposure of unprotected sex, for which you have tested for STDs.
Usually this type of stools will occur in persons with constipation or with fecal impaction.
If you have constipation with hard stool, you should take plenty of water, foods like vegetables, fruits, and leafy vegetables on every day as it will make stool bulky and soft by retaining water in it leading to easy passage of stool.
And make a habit of going to toilet everyday as if you skip one day the retained stool becomes hard on the next day.
Even after trying this if you still have difficulty in passing stool you can take stool softeners like oral lactulose daily in the bedtime after consulting your Physician.
Also, please provide the information I asked as it will help me make an informed diagnosis.
Regards,
Dr. Sandipkabra

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Thanks for the follow-up.
First,if your tests for STDs have come non-reactive (despite unprotected sex) then there is no need to be worried about STDs.
For hard stools,
Take plenty of water, foods like vegetables, fruits, and leafy vegetables on every day as it will make stool bulky and soft by retaining water in it leading to easy passage of stool or
Take syrup lactulose or cremaffin plus 3 TSF at a bed time to have soft and effortless bowel motions in the morning.
It seems that your heaviness in head with headache is related to bowel and your digestion process.
So, you should take antacids like pantoprazole or esomeprazole (Nexium) before half an hour of meal with digestive enzymes (Unienzyme) which are available over the counter.
Take pain killers (paracetamol) if there is unbearable headache but it must be taken with antacids as I suggested.
Take digene liquid or ulcero-protective agents like sucralfate or bismuth subsallicylate if you have the burning sensation or fullness in stomach.
Apart from medications you should also be careful with your diet which I have mentioned below.
- eat plain foods like boiled rice and green leafy vegetables without adding spices or oil. It will help to neutralize digestive acids and also they are easily digestible means there will be no need of extra stomach acid.
- avoid oily, spicy and fast foods
- avoid eating full stomach at a time rather have small meals frequently in a day.
- drink coconut water will help to reduce burning.
- eat lots of fruits like banana and watermelon.
- avoid excess tea and coffee and drink plenty of water in a day which will maintain your hydration to keep away from headache.
- do morning exercises like walking or jogging which will reduce your stress level.
With all above medications and dietary precautions, you will start improving in 1 or 2 weeks.
In case,if problem persists even after that, then you will have to undergo some routine blood works, ultrasound of abdomen and upper GI endoscopy.
For which ,you need to consult gastroenterologist for detailed medical history and clinical examination to diagnose the underlying cause.
Hope this detailed information will be helpful.
Thanks and Regards,
