Question: I have a constant urge to deaf are but nothing comes out. I'm not constipated, because I went earlier today with no problem. This just started happening during (regular vaginal) sex and the feeling has continued for hours after. It only feels better when I'm sitting on the toilet, even if I'm not doing anything.

Brief Answer:
Following answer to your query.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

Your symptoms are known on medical literature as tenesma which is an extreme urge to defecate which last for hours and is the cause for discomfort and pain.

In most of the cases tenesma is caused by:
- Bowel disease especially irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
- Hemorrhoids and other rectal disorders (anal fissure)
- Inflamation on pelvic cavity (vaginal infection, endometriosis, cystitis etc.)

If you were my patient I would recommend to do the following examinations to find out what is causing your symptoms:
- blood work
- coproculture
- abdominal ultrasound
- transvaginal ultrasound examination of vagina and other gynecological organs
- smear PAP test (gynecological exam)
- proctologic evaluation of rectum.

Meanwhile, I would recommend to do the following measures:
- apply warm bags on abdominal area
- use spasmex otc to relieve the pain

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
Dr. Klerida
