Suggest Treatment For Cough And Cold
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hi, I am having the worse cold/flu I have had in years. Really bad coughing, This is the 11th day. I am having pain that is getting worse just to the right of my sternum in front and it radiates thru to the back. Its getting quiet strong and throbs. It DOESNT hurt when I cough, just when I lay still,
Brief Answer:
The pain and cough are unrelated, as you have rightly understood.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM,
The pain and cough are unrelated. It is possibly due to esophagitis (a little inflammation in food pipe) You try a liquid antacid with Xylocaine.
Can you tell me what you are taking for the cough so I can help you with that ?
Please revert back.
Regards

Brief Answer:
If the chest is very congested, try an expectorant cough mixture
Detailed Answer:
Hi Terri, Mucinex is good. If the chest is very congested, try an expectorant cough syrup with Terbutaline in it.
Steam inhalation with Vicks/Eucalyptus oil twice a day should definitely benefit.
If you do not improve, do see a doctor for an antibiotic.
Hope to have you better soon.
