Suggest Treatment For Cough, Difficulty Breathing And Blocked Nose
Question: Hi Doctor,
My Son is 2 year 9months, 14kgs weight he has adenoid and tonsils, he was fine from Feb to Nov 2nd week ,due to weather change he has picked up cough, today is 3rd day, night he is not sleeping @ all, getting snoring, mouth breathing is high, for nose block pediatrician has suggested us to use "Nasonex", since last night picked up fever 102F, Shall i use Augmentin now, if yes in Augmentin which one shall i use ? Augmentin Duo/dds/625. What will be the dosage? Please suggest me. (when he was 1 yr old we have used augmentin for him, there was no side effects.)

In my opinion your son should be examined by the doctor.
The sign you have mentioned is suggestive of infection like, common viral infection, otitis media(middle ear infection), pneumonia, sinusitis etc.
For each of this infections dosage of augmentin varies, so it is suggested to you to get examine your child before you gave him augmentin. Proper examination by doctor can suggest you the severity of infections and thereafter the dosage will be given.
Though previously augmentin haven't given any side effect. But injudicious use of augmentin should be avoided as we do not know severity of infections.
You can use calpol drops under your doctors guidance for fever.
Nasorex is good drug you can use it as per the dosage prescribed by the doctor until you visit the doctor.
