Brief Answer:
Abdominal ultrasound should be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
As you have fractured rib, the injury was pretty strong. Left side is the area where spleen, stomach and large intestine are located. Sometimes its injury is ignored as the main pain comes from the rib fracture.
Your symptoms can be caused by some minor large intestine or stomach injury. Even if its not life threatening, can cause temporal digestion problems.
To be 100% safe, I suggest you to consult your doctor once again. At least blood work (to see hemoglobin level) and abdominal ultrasound should be done.
Please also start probiotic intake.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Well, the point of my answer was that your symptoms may be caused by some injury in the abdomen. That is why an ultrasound would be good idea to make sure everything is fine there.
