Question: Hi
I fell about 2 weeks ago and hit my left side very hard on the site of a table, after 2 days of very bad pain I went to the hospital for x rays to see if I cracked a rib but they said everything looks find and sent me home. so now after about 3 or 4 days later my side still hurts but in my mid back and around to my mid stomach and for the last 4 days I cant eat anything with out running to the bathroom if you know what I mean 3,4,5 times a day.I have some upset stomach and I have been sleeping alot because Iam feeling so very tired.I cant help but think I might have damage something else.I had some bad bruening where I hit the table and now still pail in the side front and back and cant eat with out running to the bathroom so what do you think.

Brief Answer:
Abdominal ultrasound should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

As you have fractured rib, the injury was pretty strong. Left side is the area where spleen, stomach and large intestine are located. Sometimes its injury is ignored as the main pain comes from the rib fracture.
Your symptoms can be caused by some minor large intestine or stomach injury. Even if its not life threatening, can cause temporal digestion problems.
To be 100% safe, I suggest you to consult your doctor once again. At least blood work (to see hemoglobin level) and abdominal ultrasound should be done.
Please also start probiotic intake.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Abdominal ultrasound should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Well, the point of my answer was that your symptoms may be caused by some injury in the abdomen. That is why an ultrasound would be good idea to make sure everything is fine there.
