Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father is 90 year-old, about 170 cm and 80 kg, doctors say he has osteoarthritis of the knees and hips. He finds great difficulty in walking. When he is taking NSAIDs he develops black stool, they say because of stomach injury. Is there any other form of treatment? He has CAD and heart failure as well but his inability to walk is not because of heart failure. I need your help and thanks.
hello, the only treatment available is surgey. in case he is not fit for the same, he will have to undergo physiotherapy and muscle strengthening. it is best to avoid NSAIDs, if need be he should take paracetamol, tramadol.
