Suggest Treatment For Cramps In The Rib Section And Inflammation
Question: When I stretch my body feels inflamed then I cramp horribly in the rib section, having defaulting breathing
Brief Answer:
Rib nerve pain.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Have you had any injury of this area? Do you smoke? Have you had any coughing recently?
From your description you suffer from costochondritis. This issue is caused by rib nerve irritation due to nerve entrapment or some inflammation of muscles and/or ribs. It is typical for such pain to get worse when taking a breath. Pain is usually well localized.
I suggest you to start with some physical therapy like massage or pool swimming along with Ibuprophen intake. If this wont help, you should consult orthopedist. Chest x-ray and ribs x-ray may be necessary.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
X-rays should be done sooner.
Detailed Answer:
If you do smoke and there was an injury in this area, I suggest you to have mentioned tests sooner. Smoking, coughing and having an injury are the factors of pneumothorax (air between lung and chest wall). Rib fracture needs to be ruled out as well.
If you smoke for a long time, chest CT every 2 years should be done to rule lungs cancer out.
Its hard to have P.T on your own. But you can try to relax muscles with pool swimming or at least hot bath.
Orthopedist is a good address for sure.
Regards.
